This souvenir decanter was produced for the 1934 Chicago World's Fair, also known as A Century of Progress International Exposition. The piece is constructed of a molded composition material with a textured finish designed to resemble tree bark, which is applied over a cylindrical glass interior vessel. The front of the decanter features a raised-relief profile of a Native American figure wearing a feathered headdress, accented with red, green, and yellow paint. The word CHICAGO is molded in relief above the central figure, and the year 1934 is positioned below. The vessel is sculpted with multiple protruding, cut-off branches. The underside reveals the circular glass base of the interior bottle, which still retains portions of a heavily worn fibrous or felt protective covering.
