A remarkable American folk art carving depicting a long-tailed dog standing on all fours. The elongated body, gently articulated legs, applied leather ears, and inset eyes give the dog an unusually animated presence. Its rich, undisturbed surface and delightfully unconventional subject make it a particularly engaging example of vernacular sculpture. Dimensions: 17 inches in length x 7 inches tall with a 7 1/2 inch long tall. Condition: Excellent condition with a beautiful surface, leather ears intact. Provenance: New Hampshire Trade
