This pair of matching hand-carved wooden clogs, or sabots, features traditional folk art ornamentation. Each shoe is constructed from a solid block of wood with integrated heels and soles. The toe boxes are decorated with deeply incised floral and leaf motifs that have been highlighted with a dark stain. The instep area of each shoe displays a pattern of fine, parallel incised lines. The interiors show remnants of original red paint or stain. There is worn and illegible script or marking visible on the footbed of the left shoe. Heel Height: Approximately 1 inch.
