This pair of North American indigenous gauntlet gloves is constructed from light-colored tanned buckskin and features flared cuffs with hand-cut leather fringe along the outer lateral edges. Each glove is decorated with polychrome floral beadwork executed in glass seed beads. The primary motif on the cuffs consists of a multi-petal flower in shades of orange and yellow with a blue and green base, flanked by green leaves. A secondary, circular pink floral blossom with a cyan border is positioned on the back of the hand. The construction and floral iconography are characteristic of work from the Plateau region. The interiors are unlined, showing the reverse of the tanned hide. No maker marks, signatures, or labels are present.
