This three-piece ceramic tea service is designed in the mid-19th century Staffordshire flow blue style. The set comprises a lidded teapot, a lidded twin-handled sugar bowl, and a cream jug. Each piece is constructed from heavy ironstone or earthenware with a rectangular stepped foot and a bulbous body featuring molded, scrolled panels. The decoration consists of a dense, transfer-printed floral pattern featuring roses and peonies with foliage. The blue pigment exhibits the characteristic soft, blurred edges known as flow blue against a light ground. The teapot and sugar bowl are topped with domed lids and floral-form finials. The handles and spouts are decorated with molded ornamental elements. The undersides of the teapot and sugar bowl bear gold-colored retailer labels for Mundys Antiques of Sussex, Wisconsin. The sugar bowl also has a small circular sticker with the handwritten notation WD 805. The creamer has a small rectangular label with the number 567-79 and a small, illegible impressed circular mark in the clay.
