The chest is of rectangular form, constructed of stained wood with visible box-joint corners and a molded base. The interior of the hinged lid features a large, multi-color lithographed paper label titled Elite Tool Chests For Boys. The label illustration shows three boys engaged in carpentry with a rural landscape and chickens in the background. Included within the chest is an assortment of vintage Meccano instructional literature, featuring diagrams and parts lists for models including a luggage barrow. The chest is sold as a container for ephemera and does not include the original tool set.
