A large American utilitarian stoneware vessel, likely intended for use as a mixing bowl or butter crock. The piece features a tapered body transitioning to a wide, flared rim. The exterior is finished with a light cream-colored Bristol-type glaze, while the interior is coated in a dark brown Albany-type slip glaze. The base is flat and unglazed. No maker's marks, capacity stamps, or decorative elements are present on the piece. This style of stoneware was commonly produced by numerous American potteries during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
