The head is secured to a simple, turned hardwood handle with a tapered grip and rounded butt. The wire exhibits a dark, aged patina. This tool was a standard household cleaning implement during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The item is shown on a contemporary two-post metal display stand with a circular base.
