This is a vintage Argus Pre-Viewer manufactured by Argus Cameras, Inc. of Ann Arbor, Michigan. The device is a passive optical viewer designed for the inspection of color transparencies in standard 2x2 inch slide mounts. The body is constructed of teal-colored molded plastic and features a single large magnifying lens. A silver-tone metal label on the front of the viewer is marked with the lowercase name argus above the model name PREViewer in a stylized script. The viewer includes its original two-piece cardboard box, which is decorated with red and yellow period graphics and confirms the manufacturer as Argus Cameras, Inc., Ann Arbor, Michigan. Also present is the original paper instruction leaflet, which bears the same branding and includes diagrams for use.
