(1) The smallest doll, beaded, measuring approx 9 inches tall. (2) The next largest is an outstanding early Plains male doll, measuring approximately 13 inches tall, constructed of native-tanned hide and fully dressed in a two-piece fringed outfit. The shirt and leggings are decorated with striking lanes of red glass seed beads, arranged in V- and vertical patterns down the front and sides, with additional beaded edging at the cuffs and hems. (3) A striking early 20th century plains doll, measuring 14 inches tall, dressed in a soft native-tanned hide dress with long fringe, yellow ochre yoke, and blue beaded accents along the hem and seams. The doll features a distinctive beaded face with carefully worked eyes and mouth, and wears her hair in traditional long braids. She stands on parfleche soles — a rare and desirable detail — and is fully stuffed to hold her form upright. The dress retains excellent surface and color, with honest age and light handling wear. Plains dolls of this scale and craftsmanship are highly prized by collectors, representing both play and teaching tools within their cultural context. This example, with its combination of beadwork, painted elements, and parfleche shoes, is a particularly fine and display-worthy piece of Plains material cult
