Monumental Full-Bodied Rooster Weathervane, Dimensions: 23" H x 24" W , A superb monumental full-bodied rooster weathervane, retaining an appealing early painted surface with traces of original gilding peeking through the time-softened patina. This sculptural piece displays excellent form, with a proud stance, arched tail, and finely detailed plumage that capture the essence of the bird in motion. Presented on a custom stand, this weathervane reads as much as a piece of American folk sculpture as a functional object. The well-proportioned body and vibrant early paint lend it outstanding visual presence, making it a focal point for any collection. Ex: Jim Grievo, New Jersey. Rooster weathervanes of this size and condition are increasingly scarce, and this example stands out for its strong surface, impressive scale, and striking folk art aesthetic.
