A Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) beaded souvenir whimsy dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The pincushion is crafted in a stylized boat shape from yellow polished cotton fabric. The edges are finished with a clear and smoky glass seed bead zipper border. One face of the cushion features the word FAST rendered in reddish-pink glass seed beads, with a single gold-toned bead positioned between the letters A and S. The reverse face features the word BOAT, with the letters B and A in clear glass beads and the letters O and T in reddish-pink glass beads; a single gold-toned bead is positioned between the O and A. The lower edge is decorated with four hanging loops of clear glass beads, each terminating in a cylindrical copper-toned metal ferrule. A long fiber hanging cord is attached to the upper edge. The interior is stuffed with fiber.
