A vintage mid-20th-century promotional desk ornament or paperweight modeled after a railroad tank car. The piece is constructed from cast metal with a patinated bronze-toned finish. It features a detailed representation of a classic riveted-construction tank car, including a central dome, ladder, and simulated undercarriage with fixed wheels and trucks, all mounted to a base designed to resemble railroad tracks. The front of the base displays the raised lettering National Molasses Company. The left side of the tank car is embossed with National Molasses Co. over the reporting marks N.M.L.X. 110.
