A hand-carved and polychrome-painted miniature totem pole composed of bone or marine ivory. The sculpture features stacked zoomorphic and anthropomorphic figures in the style characteristic of Northwest Coast indigenous art, specifically reflecting Nuu-chah-nulth or Nootka motifs. The uppermost figure is a bird with upright ears, possibly an owl, featuring large green and red eyes. Below this figure are two human-like faces carved in low relief, decorated with black, red, and green pigments. The pole is mounted on a square pedestal base of the same material. The reverse of the piece shows a flat-planed surface with a small circular hole drilled through the middle section. The lower reverse contains handwritten marks in black ink consisting of the digits 193 followed by a character that appears to be a 7 or a 9, likely indicating a date of 1937 or 1939, and an illegible script signature.
