A pair of antique glass food advertising jars from the early 20th century. The first item is a tall, cylindrical clear glass jar featuring a perforated metal screw-top lid. The top of the lid contains an embossed circular pattern with the characters BLUE RIBBON arranged around the upper edge and MAYONNAISE around the lower edge. The glass body is undecorated and shows a significant amount of internal residue and cloudiness. The second item is a stout glass jar largely covered by an original paper label. The label features black and red typography reading ARMOUR'S in an arch, EXTRACT OF BEEF in red, and MANUFACTURED & PACKED BY ARMOUR & CO. Chicago USA in smaller black characters. The metal lid of this jar features a red graphic logo consisting of a shield-shaped border with a diagonal banner reading ARMOUR'S. The glass body of the second jar is not clearly visible beneath the label. Both items represent early American food packaging and meatpacking history from Chicago.
