Made by the The Meyercord Co., Chicago, circa 1900–1920, with original label intact in back. A striking wood panel advertising sign featuring a crowing rooster beneath the arched inscription “Crowing For.” The bird stands atop a simulated rock bearing the advertisement for Plymouth Plaster, manufactured by the Plymouth Gypsum Co. of Fort Dodge, Iowa. The surface exhibits excellent patina with minor losses to edges/corners. Measures 15 inches wide × 21 inches high. Just picked today and my initial research hasn't turned up another example. From a lifetime Midwest collection.
