This hand-beaded folk art bottle with a matching handled stopper is an example of Balkan beadwork from Niš, Serbia. The piece is entirely encased in intricate glass seed beadwork over a glass form, featuring a golden-yellow ground. The central decorative motif depicts two peacocks facing a stylized floral arrangement, framed by bands of geometric diamond patterns and floral borders. The long-necked bottle is topped with a pointed stopper that includes a beaded loop handle and chevron designs. The base is finished with a concentric spiral of dark red beads bordered by white. Near the base, the bottle features a beaded Cyrillic inscription that reads 1912Г. НИШ. This translates to the year 1912 (Г. being an abbreviation for god, meaning year) and the city of Niš.
