This is an industrial or institutional metal receipt holder, designed for use in an accounting or filing system. The unit is constructed from a heavy-gauge steel panel with a dark olive drab green painted finish. The frame is divided into ten vertical bays, each containing a spring-loaded wire clip of the type often associated with McCaskey Register Company accounting systems. Nine of the wire clips are equipped with rectangular white plastic or celluloid tags printed with black numerals: 262, 263, 264, 265, 266, 267, 268, 269, and 270. The top-left clip is missing its identifying tag. A small metal plate stamped with the number 270 is attached to the bottom center of the frame. A rusted iron chain is linked through mounting holes along the top edge for hanging display.
