A stoneware advertising bowl produced by Watt Pottery in the Apple pattern. The piece is constructed from cream-colored ceramic with a shallow, circular form and straight sides. The interior features a central hand-painted underglaze motif of a single red apple with a green stem and three leaves. Above the graphic, the bowl is marked with black transfer-printed text reading: Compliments From SCHORI & KUSTER LBR. CO. ELGIN, IOWA. This type of utilitarian stoneware was frequently distributed as promotional premiums by rural businesses in the mid-20th century.
