A pair of Northern Plains Native American beaded moccasins. The items are constructed from hand-sewn brain-tanned leather uppers attached to thick rawhide soles. The uppers are fully decorated with glass seed beads in a lazy stitch technique. The design features a dark navy or black ground accented with nested chevron and zigzag motifs in a polychrome palette of red, white, light blue, yellow, and green. A decorative border of alternating beaded blocks follows the perimeter of the foot. The moccasins feature high, fold-over hide cuffs. The heel of the left sole bears a handwritten ink inscription reading C O N.
