This pair of vintage hand-powered garden cultivators is designed for breaking up topsoil, mixing soil amendments, and removing weeds in garden beds. Each tool features a long turned wooden handle, likely ash or hickory, fitted into a metal socket. The heads consist of cast metal star-shaped hubs that secure three curved, flat-profile spring-steel tines. One cast hub retains remnants of light blue paint, while the other shows traces of green paint. This construction style, including the specific hub casting and socket-and-pin handle attachment, is characteristic of mid-20th-century American agricultural hand tool manufacturing. Raised characters are present on the metal hubs but are not legible due to oxidation and paint loss. Length: 55 to 60 inches Head Width: 7 to 8 inches.
