An American utilitarian stoneware storage crock from the 19th or early 20th century. This cylindrical vessel features slightly tapering sides and is finished with a heavy, rolled rim. The exterior is coated in a dark brown Albany-type slip glaze, which presents a mottled and textured surface. No maker stamps, capacity markings, or cobalt decorations are visible on the body. This type of stoneware was commonly used for domestic food storage and preservation.
