This is an American folk art style hand-hooked rug featuring a primitive geometric design. The central composition consists of a three-by-four grid containing twelve individual panels. Each panel features a black five-pointed star centered on a background of various muted colors, including shades of blue, burgundy, tan, slate gray, sage green, and ochre. The entire grid is framed by a solid black border. The rug is made from wool yarn loops on a coarse fabric backing, consistent with traditional rug hooking techniques.
