This antique American advertising stoneware bean pot is attributed to the Red Wing Union Stoneware Company of Red Wing, Minnesota, based on its distinctive squat, rounded form and two-tone glaze. The vessel features a wide mouth and two small loop handles applied at the shoulder. It is finished with a dark brown Albany-type slip glaze on the upper third and handles, while the lower body is finished in a light tan Bristol-type glaze. The piece includes its matching lid, which features a dark brown rim and a cream-colored central knob. The front of the pot is decorated with cobalt blue stenciled advertising text.
