An antique American miniature six-board blanket chest constructed of pine with a dark-stained finish. The case is assembled with hand-cut dovetail joinery visible at the corners. The rectangular lid features a molded edge on the front and sides and is attached to the rear rail with two iron butt hinges. The chest is set upon a molded base frame supported by shaped ogee bracket feet. A central keyhole is located on the front panel, providing access to an interior iron lock mechanism. The interior of the chest is unfinished pine. The underside shows the board construction and corner blocking for the feet. Measures approx 15 x 10 x 9 inches.
