An antique cast iron door knocker modeled in the form of a hand, frequently referred to in historical hardware as a Knight Hand or Lady Hand motif. The hand is depicted grasping a spherical ball that functions as the striker. The wrist features an ornate, wide cuff decorated in high relief with a central raised oval medallion, scrollwork, and a scalloped, tasseled edge. The hand is hinged at the base of the cuff and includes a threaded iron mounting rod extending from the back. The object is currently mounted on a tapered, white-painted wooden pedestal for display.
