This American molded stoneware pitcher features a relief-molded Native American profile, often referred to in historical patterns as an Indian Head motif. The central decoration on both sides consists of a profile of a figure wearing a feathered headdress within a circular medallion. The surrounding body of the vessel is embellished with a raised lattice or grid pattern. The pitcher is constructed in a cylindrical form with a flared rim, a wide spout, and a prominent rope-twist style handle. It is finished in a cream-colored Bristol-style glaze that shows characteristic blue-gray pooling within the molded details and around the upper rim.
