An antique butter stamp hand-carved from a single piece of dense hardwood. The circular face features a deeply recessed folk-art design depicting a cross-hatched basket containing a central stalk of grain and two daisy-like blossoms. The design is encircled by a notched, fluted border. The stamp includes an integral turned handle with a rounded knob grip. The wood displays a dark, aged patina. Faint, illegible markings are present on the top of the disk at the base of the handle.
