This framed relic display features two artifacts recovered from the Battle of Shiloh, Tennessee. The set includes a copper percussion cap and a .69 caliber lead round ball associated with the Model 1842 Musket. The artifacts are mounted in a recessed tan card that includes a printed silhouette of the musket and historical information regarding its manufacture at the Springfield and Harpers Ferry armories. The display is housed in a black textured frame. The lead projectile exhibits a thick white and gray oxidation patina typical of period lead that has been buried in soil for an extended duration. The percussion cap shows deformation and a greenish-brown patina.
