An assortment of excavated artifacts recovered from the site of the Battle of Stones River in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The collection is housed in a black Riker-style display case with a red velvet-lined interior. The items include one dropped .58 caliber lead Minie ball with three grease grooves and heavy white lead carbonate oxidation. A second lead Minie ball is included, showing severe deformation and flattening consistent with high-velocity impact. The set also contains a circular flat brass button, described as a flat penny button, and a small brass D-ring buckle of the type used for equipment straps or horse tack. All metal components show evidence of long-term burial including pitting, verdigris, and earth-toned patina. A handwritten adhesive label on the side of the box identifies the provenance and contents.
