This American salt-glazed stoneware crock features a cylindrical body with a flared, rounded rim and two applied lug handles. The piece is decorated with a hand-brushed cobalt blue capacity mark 2 situated below the rim. Centered on the body is a stylized cobalt blue floral motif consisting of a three-petaled flower or clover on a stem. The crock displays a typical salt-glaze texture with scattered iron spots, often called turkey droppings, and minor surface pitting from the firing process. No maker's mark or manufacturer's stamp is visible on the exterior of the vessel. Capacity: 2 Gallons.
