This vintage mechanical wind-up toy is a walking bear produced by Masudaya under the Modern Toys brand in Japan. The figure is constructed with a brown mohair-style plush fabric over a metal internal frame. It features a light-colored fabric snout with a black nose and inset glass or plastic eyes. The four paws are finished with printed patterned fabric pads. An integrated metal clockwork winding key is positioned on the underside. The toy retains its original circular paper manufacturer label on the belly which includes the diamond TM logo and the text Modern Toys, Japan, and Patent.
