A Northern Plains Indigenous beaded hide shoulder yoke or capelet. The garment is constructed from tan buckskin leather and features a primary decorative panel densely embroidered with glass seed beads. The central iconography consists of a red horse figure in profile flanked by two circular geometric starburst medallions on a light blue ground. Black U-shaped motifs representing horse tracks are positioned above the central figure. The lower edge is finished with long buckskin fringe, further embellished with cowrie shells, red horse hair tassels, and beaded dangles featuring turquoise-colored beads and small metal hawk bells. Three silver-tone metal conchos are affixed to the front, with the central concho featuring a five-pointed star cutout. Also included is a separate beaded strip displaying repeating geometric star motifs in red, blue, and green against a white background. The embroidery is executed using traditional lane-stitch techniques.
