This Ottoman-period weapon belt, known as a selahlik, is constructed from a heavy tan leather base overlaid with white leather panels. The exterior surfaces feature dense, hand-stitched polychrome embroidery in silk or wool threads, depicting stylized tulips, pomegranates, and scrolling foliate vines characteristic of Balkan or Anatolian folk motifs. The color palette includes shades of deep red, teal, and golden-yellow. The belt is designed with a primary rectangular storage pouch and a separate section containing twelve integrated, tin-lined cylindrical cartridge slots protected by a leather cover flap. It is fastened with a dark-toned iron square buckle with a single prong and includes decorative cord tassels attached to the pouch and flap closures. No maker marks or inscriptions are present on the leather or metal components.
