An original Civil War foot officer's sword. Full lenth of 30.5 inches. The leather scabbard in excellent condition, with some age expected shrinkage. The scabbard marked on back AMES MFG CO. Inscribed on the front of the scabbard reads PRESENTED TO LIEUT G.E. STOBRIDGE BY THE CITIZENS OF EVANSTON ILS MAY 23RD 1864. The blade still retaining some of its original finish, also marked AMES MFG CO. A fine and rare example.We provide in-house shipping on all items in the auction.
