This is a stylized ceramic bird figurine, identified as a quail or partridge, designed by Ed Knop for Red Wing Pottery. The piece features a mid-century modern aesthetic with a rounded, simplified body, a distinctive crest on the head, and a short pointed tail. It is finished in a uniform matte mustard-yellow glaze and stands on an integrated, flared circular pedestal base. The underside of the base is embossed with the markings ED KNOP, RED WING, and USA arranged in a circular format.
