A late 19th-century Sioux beaded hide pipe bag crafted from brain-tanned buckskin. The bag features two primary panels of polychrome glass seed beadwork executed in a lazy-stitch technique against a white ground. One side displays a central X-shaped geometric motif in green, dark brown, and yellow, bordered by vertical rows of blue diamond accents. The reverse side features a central stepped diamond motif in yellow and blue, surrounded by green geometric elements and small red and yellow crosses. A serrated beaded border marks the top of the beaded section. The base of the bag consists of a row of leather slats wrapped in dyed porcupine quills in red, yellow, and blue, which transitions into a long, hand-cut leather fringe.
