This yellowware pitcher is attributed to Morton Pottery and features their characteristic Woodland sponged glaze. The earthenware vessel is decorated with a molded relief pattern of vertical reeds or bamboo stalks, bordered by raised horizontal bands at the shoulder and base. The exterior and interior surfaces are finished with a mottled multi-color glaze of brown and green sponged over a mustard yellow ground. The form includes a broad pinched spout and a sturdy D-shaped handle. No manufacturer marks are visible on the item.
