This official desk display features a six-pointed cast metal star badge with ball tips, signifying the position of Commissioner for the Cook County Board of Election Commissioners. The badge is constructed with a two-tone finish, featuring a central circular medallion with a dark patina set against a gold-tone star frame. The central medallion displays the official seal of Cook County, Illinois, which includes a heraldic shield with imagery of a ship and sun. The badge is mounted on two vertical metal rods that are secured into a circular base made of polished green marble with characteristic light and dark veining. The top arc of the badge is embossed with the text BOARD OF ELECTION COMMISSIONERS, while the bottom arc is embossed with COMMISSIONER. The inner border of the central medallion is inscribed with COUNTY OF COOK.
