The piece is constructed of soft leather with the dorsal surface elaborately decorated in multi-colored glass seed beads. The beadwork is applied in a traditional lane stitch technique, featuring geometric patterns in shades of orange, yellow, royal blue, red, and turquoise green. The stuffed, three-dimensional form includes four flippers, each accented with a single spherical wooden bead and leather thong ties, a short tail, and a protruding head.
